These resources include national reports, community resources for support against discrimination, and policy recommendations.
In response to the alarming escalation in racism resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the AAPI Equity Alliance (AEA), Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA), and the Asian American Studies Department of San Francisco State University launched the Stop AAPI Hate coalition on March 19, 2020. The coalition tracks and responds to incidents of hate, violence, harassment, discrimination, shunning, and child bullying against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States.
It serves as the leading aggregator of anti-Asian and Pacific Islander hate incidents. In the two years since Stop AAPI Hate’s inception, the coalition has published over twenty reports pertaining to nationwide incidents, policy recommendations, and examinations of marginalized Asian American community groups.
These thematic reports include youth, elderly, and gender based incidents. Additional reports address Asian American mental health, as well as the anti-China rhetoric during the Covid-19 pandemic.
